It is important to make difference between AIDS and HIV. HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks human body and also is the syndrome or medical condition named AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) appears in the final stages of HIV infection. HIV can’t be transmitted from one person to another like the other viruses, it needs body fluids to infect, for instance: blood, semen, pre-seminal fluids, vaginal fluids, breast milk, or rectal fluids. This virus attacks cells named CD4, and they are very crucial when they fight against infections, the immune system immediately weakens and unable to struggle. There are treatments that can help the virus stagnate at certain stages, and perhaps it won’t turn into AIDS. According to global statistics there are 36.7 million people who suffer from AIDS throughout the whole world, and 1.8 million of children who are HIV positive. This number in America was 39,513 in 2015, but there was observed a decline of 19% from 2005 to 2014.
