Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has announced five new superchargers for European countries in a post on its Facebook page. The company revealed that the first of the new supercharger will come up in Belgium followed by new routes that open in Sweden, Germany, Norway, and France.  Currently Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has 47 operational superchargers scattered mostly across Western Europe, with most of them in Germany and France.

A supercharger charges Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s Model S 16 times faster than most public charging stations. Most of the supercharger stations run by Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) are capable of delivering up to 120 kW to Model S, which can replenish half a charge in as little as 20 minutes. Currently Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) operates 103 superchargers in the U.S., but only one in the U.K., but by the winter of 2014-15 the company expects to increase the presence of its superchargers significantly across the U.S. and Europe.
