Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has had a busy day in Germany’s capital today, revealing three new Lumia smartphones, some new accessories, and a Lumia Denim update at an event in Berlin. Nokia provided all of the details in a blog post this morning, sharing the specifications and features of their new devices.
Chief among the new smartphones is the flagship Lumia 830, which they boast as their thinnest and lightest Lumia phone yet at just 8.5mm wide and 150g. Powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, the 830 has a 10MP camera, a Curved Gorilla 3.0 glass touch screen, and 16GB of memory, in addition to 15GB on Microsoft’s cloud storage platform OneDrive.
The Lumia 830 also includes a motion sensing tracker that functions even when the device is “asleep”, and can be paired with fitness apps like Bing Health and Fitness to monitor your activity. The Lumia 830 will retail for 330 Euros, and will ship worldwide later this month.
Next up are the Lumia 730 Dual SIM and Lumia 735, which are described as the Selfie Masters with their Full-HD 5MP wide-angle front-facing cameras, in addition to their 6.7MP rear-facing cameras. They even have dual microphones to go along with the dual cameras. They boast the same processor as the 830, and have 4.7” HD OLED 720×1280 screens. The two phones, primarily aimed at emerging markets and cost-sensitive consumers will retail for 199 Euros for the 730 Dual SIM, and 219 Euros for the 4G 735. Both devices are also being released this month.
On the accessories front, the most intriguing announcement was for the Microsoft Screen Sharing For Lumia Phones HD-10, a Miracast/Chromecast-style dongle that connects a Lumia smartphone over Wi-Fi to compatible HD television screens in up to 1080p, allowing movies, games, and more to be displayed on screen. The dongle will retail for $79.99 and releases this month.
