Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced that it will let its Enterprise and industry partners to migrate to and use its Office 365 platform for free. For this, the company has signed a deal with SkyKick, which will enable every company willing to make a migration from Offline office apps to mobile, online and Cloud-based Office 365 platform. The migration cost would be free and SkyKick is developing a special suite that would help automating the daunting task of migration. This is a huge step by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) that could crush Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) apps for work that are used by millions around the world for free. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is currently on a mobile apps spree and fighting tooth and nail to make its way into the mobile platforms. It is developing and launching apps for iOS and Android frantically. It is giving away its tools for productivity and Enterprise for free. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is striking deals with other companies like Dell and Samsung to make them host its apps in their mobile devices.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) apps for work are now under direct threat because of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s strategies. An article on Business Insider quoted a survey by Bitglass, which says that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Office 365 has now taken over Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) apps just in 6 to 9 months.
29% of the Enterprise customers plan to deploy Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Office 365 in future whereas Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) apps has only 13% share. All this points towards the fruitful results of the efforts and bold steps adapted by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s new CEO in the past few months.
