Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has unveiled many new features for Google Maps. Now, the users can search and browse through publicly shared custom maps of different types in the Google Map Gallery. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) also launched a new addition of ‘My Maps’, in which users can create their own custom maps by adding icons, images, descriptions and other details. The company announced these recent additions in one of its posts on the official Google Maps blog.
According to the post, user can download Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s My Maps Android App to view their own custom maps and make change, while on the go. Users now have an option to share their custom maps with their friends, family or if they prefer, then publicly. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) also revealed that those who are using the classic My Maps can from today upgrade their content to new My Maps, even if they don’t, by this year end all maps created in classic Google Maps will automatically be upgraded to the new My Maps.
