Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is trying its best to make internet reach every individual across the globe and that too at high speeds. Fox Business‘s Elizabeth McDonald, recently revealed that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is investing nearly $300 million in an underground cable between U.S. and Asia along with five other investors .
“300 million bucks, that’s what Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is spending along with a consortium of about half a dozen companies that includes KDDI, which is a Japanese telecom concern, also China Mobile and basically this will connect major west coast cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle. It is called Faster, that’s why you are seeing the word ‘Faster’ at the top, that’s what the nickname is for this underwater cable is being called. So, it will connect to cities in Japan, […] This cable will bring internet speeds at about 10 million times faster than a standard cable modem,” McDonald said.
