In a program on CNBC, it was reported that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) are revamping their app stores in China. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), which has been in bad relations with developers of China will now allow the developers to publish apps in order to give a boost to app development in the emerging market. PC Mag editor Sascha Segan said that after the update. Chinese developers will be able to publish their apps on the Play Store. He thinks that the real news in all this is the softening of the relations between Chinese mobile market and Google. For years, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has not been able to penetrate the world’s largest mobile market. This had a bad effect on overall software and services revenue. Segan thinks that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has opened a gateway to a massive bundle of potential opportunities by this step.
Answering a question about possibility of a Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Play Store launch in China, Segan said that there is a high chance that Chinese regulators would allow Google to launch the play store because it would increase the competition and market opportunities.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has removed the word “free” from its app store. This was the demand by European Commission. People were fooled by so called free apps because they are not free many times and require payments for full features. This alarmed European Commission. As a result, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) have removed the free label on all apps that require any payment in the complete experience.
