All the Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) users are now notified that they will have to agree with the new terms and conditions of Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s social media platform. The only way to opt out from this is to end using Facebook which, majority of the users, will not adapt. Perhaps the biggest eyebrow raising thing about Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s new terms of service is the company’s interest in getting access to your smartphone. No matter how much criticism the company was given on its latest moves to access smartphone from messenger app, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) seems to have not moved an inch from its stance. Under the guise of “user experience’ social media companies are forcing their users to give them access to their phones, apps and other data.

Wifi and GPS tracking is another alarming addition to the new terms of service. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) tracks Wifi from nearby hotspots to let you customize user experience, check-ins, nearby restaurants and hotels. GPS and mapping information can also locate the user’s exact location. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) does not give any choice to avoid this. The source said that Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s mobile app tracks data even if the person is currently not using it.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)  also uses the user data to craft ads and target the users with more and related ads. The company is heavily focusing on its ads business revenue. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)  and Google are both accused of selling user data to the advertisers in the past. The new terms of service of Facebook will be in effect from 1st January 2015.
