Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has released its own diversity report, CNBC’s Julie Boorstin reports, a few weeks after companies like Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) have done the same.
Furthermore, the Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) diversity report also comes after Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) and LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) have also reported about diversity in their workforce.
According to Boorstin, the male to female worker split in the world’s largest social media company is 69% to 31% which she said is roughly the same as Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL). Furthermore, the Facebook Inc’s (NASDAQ:FB) tech employees, Boorstin added, “skew more male”.
In terms of race, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is 57% White, 34% Asian, 4% Hispanic and 2% black, the CNBC host noted. Moreover, the senior employees at the company is composed of 77% male and 74% White. To increase the talent pool from underrepresented sectors, the company is reportedly implementing a program for diversity.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), in its latest diversity report, said that its ranks are made up of 70% male and 30% female. In terms of Race, 61% are White, 30% are Asian, 4% are two or more races, 3% are Hispanic, 2% are black, and less than 1% are of other races.
In the latest Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) diversity report, it was revealed that its employees are 62% male and 37% female with 1% “Other / Not Disclosed”. In terms of race in its US offices, 50% are White, 39% are Asian, 4% are Hispanic, and 2% each are Black, two or more races and “Other / Not Disclosed”.
As for LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD), its diversity report revealed that its workforce is comprised of 61% male and 39% female. In terms of ethnicity in its U.S. offices, 53% are White, 38% are Asian, 4% are Hispanic, 2% are black, 2% are two or more races and less than 1% are of other races.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) shareholders includes William C. Martin’s Raging Capital Management which reported 647,000 shares in the social media behemoth by the end of March. Another shareholder is Spencer M. Waxman’s Shannon River Fund Management which had 621,900 in the same period.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) investors includes Falcon Edge Capital managed by Richard Gerson and Navroz D. Udwadia. The hedge fund said it had 58,900 shares in the company by the end of the first quarter. Another investor in is David Gallo’s Valinor Management Llc which reported 57,565 shares in Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) also by the end of the first quarter.
