Amid rife speculation that the Chinese Government is banning products from American tech companies, Bloomberg News had reported earlier this week that 10 of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s products were taken off from a procurement list of approved hardware by Chinese Government due to security concerns. China’s Central Government Procurement Centre, Finance Ministry and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), all refuted the Bloomberg’s report, Reuters reported, adding that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) never applied for its products to be included in the procurement list, in the first place.
It was actually a list of energy-savings products that created all this confusion, according to the authorities and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) had never been on the list in the past. China’s Finance ministry sent a Fax to Reuters yesterday, establishing that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) never wanted to be on the list.
“Even though Apple has the certification for energy-saving products… it has never provided the necessary verification material and agreements, according to the regulations,” the statement said.
According to Central Government Procurement Centre, the Chinese Government can still purchase Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s products, even if those products are not on the energy saving list.
