Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will launched a bevy of products today, Fred Davis of The Raine Group told Andrew Ross Sorkin in an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box.
Among the products that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will launch today will be the larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen iPhones, an iWatch and an iWallet, the partner at The Raine Group said in the discussion.
However, he said that it is unlikely that we will see a television being launched by the consumer electronics giant.
“Tim Cook has all these presents under his Christmas tree that he gets to unveil to us today and it is kind of exciting,” Davis said.
According to the executive, it is likely that two new iPhones will be debuted by the Cupertino, California-based company though he does not know what will happen to the smaller 4-inch iPhone.
Furthermore, he said that he believes Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will unveil a new wearable device that is popularly thought to be called the iWatch. This goes contrary to some predictions made by other market observers.
For example, Stuart Jefffrey of Nomura was also recently interviewed by CNBC and said that the iPhone-maker will likely launch the iWatch next year. However, the Nomura telecoms analyst believes that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will make an announcement about its iWatch at its event today.
Davis also said that he believes a “revolution” in payments will be introduced by Apple Inc. at the iPhone 6 launch. He added that it might be called the iWallet.
As for music, Davis said that today’s event will not feature a new product about music. He said that U2 and Jimmy Iovine will be at the event just because the company has had artists perform in their events and because the iPhone-maker recently bought Beats Electronics.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shareholders includes Andreas Halvorsen’s Viking Global which reported about 2.29 million shares in the company by the end of the second quarter.
