Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has invited numerous Fashion editors and bloggers to its mega product launch event on September 9, Reuters reported. This is a strong indicator that the tech giant has plans to reveal its much awaited wearable, the iWatch. iWatch will be the first new wearable product from Apple under its CEO Tim Cook. iPhone 6 is confirmed to be revealed at Tuesday’s event.
Reuters quoted Lea Goldman, features and special projects director for Marie Claire magazine, who is invited to the event and said that fashion experts are now almost certain that Apple will release the iWatch. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has finally decided to tap into the fashion world. Apple has been preparing to dive into the wearables industry since long. In the past couple of years, it hired many experts from fashion industry, including Patrick Pruniaux, former vice president of Tag Heuer’s global sales and retail, Angela Ahrendts, former chief executive of Burberry Inc, and former Yves Saint Laurent’s CEO Paul Deneve.
The source added that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is not the sole runner in this race of wearbles. Companies like Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) and LG are already making much progress in this domain. Last week, Intel announced a partnership with Fossil Group Inc (NASDAQ:FOSL) on wearable technology. Reuters added that fashion experts have very high hopes from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as there is a need for state of the art new fashion products in the industry apart from pure technology products.
