Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)‘s much speculated iPhone 6 might come with a better modem chip than its predecessors. MacRumors, a website dedicated to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s devices came out with a post today, revealing the rumored iPhone 6 will sport QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM)’s MDM9625 LTE modem With LTE-Advanced Support.
According to the website, GeekBar released the pictures of a logic board, which the rumored iPhone 6 is supposed to come with. The Logic board pictures clearly reveal that the phone will have QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM)’s MDM9625 LTE modem. This Modem was announced in 2012, QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM)’s MDM9625 LTE modem boasts of speed up to 150 MBPS and LTE-Advanced Support. The modem is said to work much better in tough conditions than its predecessors. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, all had a Qualcomm MDM9615 chip and Qualcomm MDM9625 is supposed to be much better due to a refined 28 nanometer production process.
