Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is reported to be working on two new iPads which will be released by the end of this year. iPhone 6 is also slated to be launched on September 9. It seems like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is readying an arsenal full of new phones and slates to boost its sales and to tackle its rising Chinese competitor, Xiaomi. Bloomberg’s Tim Culpan reported on the news of two new iPads and said that there will be a 9.7 inch and 7.9 inch model in the market by the end of this year.
“[…] There is a couple of more iPads on the way we are reporting the last 24 hours, they have gone into manufacturing. That means that the suppliers who are going to be assembling are ready to bring them out and that points to new iPads by the end of this quarter or maybe early next quarter. At the moment what we can tell you is that there is a new version of 9.7, that’s the full sized iPad, that’s the kind of the most familiar phone factor that they have brought out for quite a few years and then there is also a 7.9, the iPad mini, as its better known, also looking to be out by the end of this year. So that’s two new iPads,” said Culpan.
Culpan als mentioned that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s suppliers like Hon Hai need are really in need of a push to boost up their sales. He added that Hon Hai sales were up by only 0.8% in the first quarter and the company is looking for a much needed boost in the second quarter. Culpan thinks that Hon Hai will experience a great boost in sales after the launch of new iPads and iPhones by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) this year.
