In a program on CNBC, it was reported that Samsung’s mobile business plummeted by 30% in just one year. This huge loss has raised many questions. Samsung’s mobile phones were quick enough to take market and challenge giants like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) but the company is now experiencing a decline. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), which is striving hard to make a mark in the emerging as well as established markets can take huge advantage from this decline of Korean phone maker.
Dan Costa, Editor at PC Mag explained some reasons behind this decline. Costa said that Samsung is facing problems at both ends. Chinese giants like Xiaomi has crushed Samsung market share in the emerging markets. In we talk about premier end, Apple has taken a clear lead despite of the initial problems in its units. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) can become a potential killer for Samsung if the company does not do something about innovation. The Korean company has no ecosystem and its main focus in to increase the size and add some expected features.
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) launched its Passport phone months ago and it is working on another phone. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is piling up cash from its iPhone 6. Samsung’s Galaxy S5 didn’t perform as it was expected. Costa said that problem with Samsung is that it tries different things and has no focus at all. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Blackberry on the other hand has less phone but more features and ecosystem factor.
