Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) disclosed in a recent press release that it plans to open another fulfillment center in Redlands, California. Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN)’s 7,00,000 square feet Redlands fulfillment center will employ more than 2,500 full time workers and will be picking, packing and shipping large items to customers, like big-screen TVs, Kayaks and others.
“We are proud to be hiring for more than 2,500 full-time jobs in California that offer wages 30 percent higher than traditional retail stores and include comprehensive benefits on day one, bonuses and stock awards. We have found great talent in the state and we’re excited to be growing quickly to serve our customers,” Mike Roth, Vice President of North America Operations at Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), was quoted as saying in the statement.
Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will also extend its Career Choice programs to hourly employees at its Redlands center, in which Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) pre-pays 95% of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, irrespective of whether those skills are relevant for jobs at Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN).
