Pete Pachal, Senior Technology Editor at Mashable, was on Fox Business to discuss the future of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) especially in view of the expected new product launches this year.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), All glass products, challenges, Is apple is a good stock to buy

Apple is expected to unveil iPhone 6 later this year, and Mr. Pachal weighed in on the matter saying that Apple has two phones in the works for the fall. He went on to state that the new iPhone devices will have bigger displays, almost the kind of what Samsung S5 already features.

Therefore, it won’t be surprising for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to unveil iPhone 6 with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display screens that will put it in the phablet range.

“They can no longer ignore these big screen phones. They are too popular especially in Asia,” He noted.

Mr. Pachal also stated that flagship phones released last year are still good enough for many people such that he doesn’t think that the usual cycles in the smartphone world will be there this time.

Battery issues also took a better part of the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) discussion with Mr. Pachal noting that the company is likely to battery-life in the new iPhones. He observed that phones running on Android from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) already give optional power modes that boost battery hours.

However, Mr. Pachal was quick to point out that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been reluctant to move their needle in terms of battery-life. He said that is because CEO Tim Cook and his team believe that 10 hours of battery under heavy usage that they already give is enough. “Battery-life is an ongoing issue,” he said, adding that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will have to address that in their new products.

Mr. Pachal also touched on the rumored iWatch in the wake of the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) hire from a Swiss luxury products company, Tag Heuer, that is known for celebrity watches. He expects iWatch to have a broader appeal than what rumors have been able to reveal so far, specifically be thinks iWatch will be more than a fitness device.
