The COVID-19 pandemic has spread to almost every country on Earth. There have been over 212 million cases, with over 4.44 million resulting in death. Governments, multilateral organizations, and private companies have invested billions of dollars in the research and development of effective vaccines. The first mass vaccination campaign will begin in 2020. Globally, 4.97 billion doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. Each day, 34.91 million doses are administered. Over half of its population has received the second dose and is now completely immunized. Canada has implemented new policies requiring air travelers to carry proof of vaccination. In Belgium, a total of 15.78 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. 67 percent of Belgium’s population has received their second vaccination dose. In Spain, 63.09 million vaccine doses were administered, vaccinating 76 percent of the population, or 35.44 million people in total. Spain is ranked eighth among the ten best-performing countries in terms of COVID-19 vaccination rates. The ratio of confirmed deaths to confirmed cases in Spain reached an all-time low near the end of July. Portugal is one of the top ten countries in the world for COVID-19 vaccinations. Around 79% of the country’s 10.16 million inhabitants have received at least one dose. Since mid-April, Portugal’s case fatality rate has remained below 1%. Qatar has now administered 4.25 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. According to the most recent entries, the ratio of confirmed deaths to confirmed cases (CFR) in Qatar is 0%, and has been for over 20 days.
