Business industries and private entities all create waste. With the many types of waste, we encounter it is safe to assume that there will be companies that will collect these, treat them, recycle or create energy from production. If these cannot happen, they will dispose of this waste collection properly. To manage waste better, many multinational corporations serve different countries and have their plants there too. The revenue of these recycling companies is very high and their employment rate. Insider Monkey recently published an article titled Top 15 Biggest Recycling Companies in the World. Here the companies are divided into where their home offices are based.
Europe
Biffa PLC is a British company that offers recycling and special waste services mostly to commercial establishments, they have annual revenue of $1,484 million. Renewi is another British company that started in construction but now has moved towards waste management; their annual revenue is $2,415 million. Clean Harbors, is a multinational corporation based in Britain but services almost 400 locations. They focus on environmental energy and offer industrial services such as hazardous waste disposals.
Veolia Environmental Services, a company based in France provides waste management, treatment, and disposal to big companies. It has a presence in more than 35 countries worldwide and has an annual revenue of $12,505 million.
Australia
There are two Australian companies on this list. First would be Bingo Industries Limited, with annual revenue of $398 million, this company offers recycling and water services to both residents and commercial entities. Cleanaway Waste Management is a multinational waste management corporation with 250 branches worldwide. Its annual revenue is $1,819 million.
Americas
Casella Waste Systems has an annual revenue of $743 and has integrated services in waste management and recycling plants. GFL Environmental Inc. is one of Canada’s biggest recycling companies and has an annual revenue of $3,347.
Recology is a private waste management company that operates mostly in landfills around the country. Their annual revenue is $1,300. Covanta Energy Corporation, annual revenue of $1,870. collects and converts these to energy, after it will be sold to corporations.
Stericycle is the only company to have logged loss in 2019. Their annual revenue at that time was $3,309.
US Ecology Inc., annual revenue of $1,051 is more focused on environmental sciences, waste treatment, and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous, and radioactive waste. Waste Connections Inc’s services are collection, transfer, disposal, and recycling of solid waste. Their revenue is $5,389. Republic Services with $10,299 in revenue collects non-hazardous solid waste for disposal, recycling, or energy conversion.
The top recycling company in the world would be Waste Management, Inc with annual revenue of $15,455 it operates mostly in landfills, disposal, and cycling plants, and power production plants.
