It seems Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has learned quite a lot of lessons from the latest Sony hacking scene. The company has decided to revamp its Cloud security. After letting the customers encrypt their Windows Azure Cloud streaming and data services with AES encryption, the Redmond giant has now announced that Windows Azure Media services can be encrypted by using its PlayReady encryption service.
An article in Venture Beat reported that PlayReady encryption service has been around since 2007. It was developed by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) as a way to manage its Cloud, stream, Video on Demand platform. Microsoft has recently announced that PlayReady service will be available for all the video on demand, streaming and connect services that are managed through Windows Azure Cloud. The source quoted Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Azure Media Services program manager Mingfei Yan, who said in a blog post that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Azure Cloud has always been promising and useful for the Enterprise and home users in terms of security and data integrity.
The source said that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is on its way to develop a complete ecosystem to harness all its resources and provide the Enterprise with an off-premise suite of resources that can leverage their computing power. The company can now offer streaming services without being dependent on third party services for security. The source said that Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services are Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s main competitors. Satya Nadella, the new CEO of Microsoft has long been emphasizing the importance of Mobile and Cloud. The company will make key development in the Cloud domain in 2015.
