IFA 2014 trade show, one of the biggest consumer electronics trade shows has kicked off on Friday. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has plans to reveal many new products at the show. In an article on Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s official blog, Nick Parker, Corporate Vice President of the Original Equipment Manufacturer Division of Microsoft presented some new devices that are recently released by Microsoft and its partners.
Parker said that Windows phones have seen an intense growth in the recent past. ARCHOS, Kazam and Yezz have announced Windows 8.1 phones at the IFA. Windows phones ecosystem has seen the addition of a new HTC One (M8) for Windows and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has also extended its Lumia series with new mobiles.
Parker talked about the newly released Acer Aspire R13, which can be used as a notebook, ezel, stand, pad, tent or display. Aspire R13 is a 2-in-1 device which makes it very useful for the customers. Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) has also released HP ENVY x2 line of Windows PCs and Pavilion x2 at the IFA. These two devices from HP are not just for fun and style, they are meant for business oriented usage as well.
Parker said that Lenovo has released business-ready ThinkPad Helix at the IFA. The new ThinkPad is lighter, thinner and has an improved battery life. He himself presented Toshiba’s new Windows tablet, Encore Mini at the IFA event. The article also mentioned several new gaming PC on Windows platform. New Acer Aspire V Nitro, released at Gamescon last month has Full HD IPS display and impressive features to serve the emerging needs of gamers.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is working with its partners to launch new and improved devices in the future. There are more than 6,600 Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 certified products and more are coming soon, according to Parker. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has a new deal with Gome Electrical Appliances to sell Windows products in China and the region.
Jeffrey Ubben‘s ValueAct Capital is one of the biggest shareholders of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), having more than 74 million shares of the company.
