BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) recently announced on its Inside Blackberry Blog that it has launched an update for its BBM for Windows Phones. The BBM for Windows beta version was launched only a few weeks ago and BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) seems to be marching ahead with bug fixes and performance improvements, in no time.
Blackberry Messenger, or BBM from BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) used to be a coveted tool back in the days when internet based messaging was in its infancy and it used to come exclusively along with BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s devices. With players like WhatsApp coming into dominance along with Android and BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) losing considerable market share in the smartphone space, BBM lost its glory, forcing BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) to launch it on other Mobile Operating Systems as well. It still remains to be seen whether BBM can again get back to the user base that it once used to command.
