Powermat has set the standard in the wireless charging domain. Experts now think that the most asked for feature in the smartphones is the wireless charging. Companies like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) must follow the footsteps of Powermat to initiate inbuilt features of wireless charging support as users are getting frustrated of high featured machines with depleted battery timings. In a program on Fox Business, Powermat’s CEO, Ran Poliakine, discussed the company’s branching ventures with other companies and the technology they are about to introduce in General Motors Company (NYSE:GM)’s vehicles.

“[…] Technology is very simple, just like Wi-Fi, when you go to Starbucks today, you have your coffee and you expect your Wi-Fi and your emails to come to your device, its same, place your device, and expect your battery to be filled up,” said Poliakine.

Answering the question about the possibility of theft of the power mats, Poliakine said that the idea is to make the embedded surfaces able to charge the device. A part of a table or certain surface will be made to charge the devices, so no one can steal the big surface. He said that the power mats will be compatible with all devices and are designed on the concept of universal charging.

Poliakine said that the technology is designed by Israeli engineers and the company is also based in Israel. He added that the company started to work on this energy transformation technology seven years ago. So far, Powermat has partnered with many companies like DuraCell and Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) and now it is going into talks with the automobile giant General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) for crafting wireless technology support in cars. Experts think that Powermat is likely to go into a deal with the smartphone giants like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY).

If Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) or BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) seal a partnership with Powematt in the near future, there is a high chance the smartphone industry will take a new step. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices have third party wireless charging devices like Qi gadgets, but there is a great need for inbuilt features of wireless charging.
