BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) launched an app called ‘Guardian’ at the BlackBerry Security Summit 2014, yesterday, that will scan apps on Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Play Store for malwares before downloading them to BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s devices.
N4BB, a website dedicated to products from BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) described the Guardian app in one of its posts today. It revealed that BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is looking to allow the Trend Micro service capabilities throughout the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
In certain BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s devices that run BlackBerry OS 10.3 betas the Guardian app is already available with deep integration. The Guardia app will give peace of mind to Blackberry users for whom security is the primary concern as it will duly inform them before downloading an app from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Play Store if the code has any viruses or malware.
