I am sure you have seen the pictures of Earth taken from outer space. It is truly beautiful how blue and beautiful the Earth looks from outer space. And of course the blue comes from the vast oceans that surround us. About 71 percent of the Earth’s entire surface is covered in water. However, only a very tiny fraction of that is actually fresh water. It’s roughly about 2.5 percent, which is why this article is pretty grim. Just imagine yourself stranded on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, without fresh drinking water. Yes, the countries that made our list today may face a similar situation in very near future. Thankfully respective governments of those countries have noticed this bleak possibility, and are trying to avoid such a calamity ever from occurring. But as the saying goes, “best laid plans of mice and men” there are so many variables at play here that nothing can be said for certain.
