Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has hired Patrick Pruniaux, Vice President of sales and retail for Swiss watch company TAG Heuer International SA in order to create a special, targeted marketing and sales strategy for its upcoming masterpiece, the iWatch. In a program on Bloomberg, IDC Executive Vice President and Chief Research Officer, Crawford Del Prete, and Bloomberg’s Adam Satariano discussed this major step by Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)  regarding its upcoming wearable.

“We know that Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has hired this guy, who is a senior sales executive from Tag to come over and help with their sales effort,” said Satariano.

He also said that Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)  is expecting a lot from the iWatch as it will not only be a technology gadget rather it will be used by people as a fashionable product as well.

According to Prete, the issue in the iWatch sales is the distribution mechanism and channels. He said that we should expect Apple to be using diversified distribution channels for the sales of iWatch. Prete thinks that distribution channels for the iWatch will not be limited to the traditional ways like Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)  stores or online sales.

Prete also said that the market of wearables is getting monotonous because people cannot make use of watches just like they do with their phones, mainly because of tiny sized screens and limitations. Prete thinks that the producers must focus on a single daily problem of the users and build a device around it like health or fitness. He said that Apple is experimenting with the market of werable devices and it has bigger plans for the future.

“I still view what Apple is doing around wearables is largely experimental, I think they are gonna experiment with a very premium device to try to make an extension of a great ecosystem they’ve already created,” said Prete.
